CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL FIELD VISIT PLAN

Teachers from Türkiye and Spain participating in the project “The Interdisciplinary Convergence of Art and Science in the Digital Age.”
Purpose of the Activities
These field visits will be organised within the framework of the project “The Interdisciplinary Convergence of Art and Science in the Digital Age.” The main objective of these activities is to provide participating teachers with the opportunity to observe significant historical, cultural, and industrial heritage sites in Poland. Through these visits, teachers will be encouraged to reflect on how cultural heritage environments can enrich educational practices and support interdisciplinary learning approaches. Furthermore, the activities aim to strengthen intercultural interaction among teachers from different countries and promote the exchange of educational experiences and good practices.
Visit Programme
Day 1 – Industrial Heritage Visit
Date: 04 February 2026
Location: Zabrze, Poland
Site to be Visited: Guido Coal Mine and Mining Museum
Time: 15:00 – 17:00
Activity Description
Participating teachers will visit the Guido Coal Mine and Mining Museum with the guidance of a professional guide. During the visit, underground galleries and historical mining equipment will be examined, and information will be provided about the industrial development of the region. This activity is expected to raise awareness of how industrial heritage sites can be utilised as educational resources.
Day 2 – Historical Memory Visit
Date: 05 February 2026
Location: Oświęcim, Poland
Site to be Visited: Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum
Time: 11:00 – 14:00
Activity Description
Participating teachers will visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with a professional guide. During the visit, historical areas related to the Second World War will be examined, and reflections will be made on historical memory, human rights, and social responsibility. The visit aims to enhance participants’ awareness of historical consciousness and the importance of human rights education.
Day 3 – Cultural Heritage Visit
Date: 06 February 2026
Location: Kraków, Poland
Time: 11:00 – 17:00

Activity Description
Participating teachers will explore historical and cultural heritage sites located in the city centre of Kraków. During the visit, the architectural and cultural characteristics of the city will be examined, and observations will be made regarding how European cultural heritage can be integrated into educational contexts.
Evaluation
Following the visits, short reflection and discussion sessions will be organised among the participating teachers. Through these discussions, participants will share their observations and experiences. The insights gained from these activities are expected to contribute to the educational practices carried out within the project “The Interdisciplinary Convergence of Art and Science in the Digital Age” and encourage the sharing of good practices among teachers.
